Camelot DVD Trailer Features Swords, Shouting, Snogging

With the news that Camelot won't be returning for a second season, it seems that Starz's hopes to become the next HBO or AMC have been stifled a bit. They've got a certified hit in the various Spartacus sequels and prequels and whatnot, but the legend of King Arthur will have to head back to Avalon and slumber until somebody else gives it a shot.

Thankfully, we live in an age where even the shortest-lived shows usually earn immortality on DVD, and fans of Camelot will be able to add the show's single season to their collection on both Blu-ray and DVD September 13th. You can click over to our earlier story to see the full specs for the set.

To help hype up the release, Anchor Bay Entertainment has passed along this new DVD trailer, which will give you a quick glimpse at the sort of stuff Camelot has to offer your eyeballs: power-struggles, betrayal, illicit boot-knocking, and sword-on-sword violence. I'll miss Joseph Fiennes' Merlin and Eva Green's Morgan. Less so, Jamie Campbell Bower's pre-pubescent King Arthur. There was no happy-ever-aftering in this particular version of Camelot.
