The Donald Hires Charisma

This just in: Apparently The Apprentice is still on the air. Who knew? Not me. Anyway, it seems The Apprentice has fallen victim to that old reality show trick: the “celebrity addition”. Look for Buffy and Angel alum Sarah Michelle Gellar, David Boreanaz, Alyson Hannigan, Charisma Carpenter to get “hired” this season, TV Guide reports.

“Charisma who?” you might ask? Well chances are, if you weren’t a Buffy or Angel fan, you probably aren’t too familiar with Charisma Carpenter. Granted, there are a lot of Buffy and Angel fans out there, but her last appearance on either of those shows was way back in ‘03 (unless you count her guest spot on Angel’s’s 100th episode). Other than that, you might recognize her from her guest spots on Charmed and Veronica Mars. Or you might have seen her in a couple of ABC Family movies or this week’s season finale of ABC Family’s Greek (nothing that really stands out too much, unless you’re a WB/UPN/CW or ABC Family fan).

What I would really like to know is, what does the winning celebrity win? Does he or she win a job at one of Trump’s companies? Do they win a role on a movie or TV show to revive their failing careers? Do they win money for their favorite charity? What could they possibly have to gain from this show? I can almost forgive all other reality shows for their celebrity-editions, if their contestants are playing for charity, but The Apprentice? Who knows.

Some other contestants rumored to be on the celeb Apprentice are Carmen Electra, Joan Rivers, Naomi Judd, George Foreman, Omarosa (What the hell, she was already on The Apprentice!), Kimora Lee Simmons, Pete Rose, Danica Patrick, Tony Hawk and Jeff Gordon. The Donald is also apparently trying to hit the trifekta and get Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, and Britney Spears on board. Yeah, I’ll believe that when I see it.

Although, if he could pull it off, it would make for some very interesting television.

The Apprentice returns for its 7th season sometime in 2008 (no date has been set).
