HBO already got us all extremely excited for next spring's premiere of Game of Thrones Season 2, but with the new season still in the casting process, there seem to be plenty more surprises to ramp up that anticipation anymore. Usually when a TV show casts an unknown actress in a key supporting role there's not much to chew on, but this is Game of Thrones-- every move by the producers is fodder to fans to chew over, debate, and add in with what they already know about the world of Westeros.

So here's your latest casting tidbit, via Entertainment Weekly, where they're reporting that British actress Rose Leslie has been cast to play Ygritte, the Wildling woman that Jon Snow meets while he's traveling beyond the Wall. Ygritte is described as "strong-willed, witty" and "skilled in battle," and also an "unconventional beauty, skinny but strong with red hair," and though Leslie looks a little buttoned-up in the photos from her recent role on Downton Abbey, you can imagine that she could ditch the maid's uniform and hunt in the wilderness with the best of them.

If you haven't caught that Season 2 trailer yet, I've embedded it again below. Winter is coming again next year… but probably not soon enough for the ever-growing ranks of the Game of Thrones faithful.
