Greg Berlanti With Yet Another Pilot, A Comedy With JoAnna Garcia Swisher

Writer-producer Greg Berlanti has his hands in a sick number of pots for the upcoming season. He’s helping to update superhero Green Arrow for Arrow, a new drama on the CW. He sold a lawyer pilot to Fox. CBS has already picked up Berlanti’s cop procedural, Golden Boy - about one cop who rises up the ranks in his department – to pilot. Now, just to spice things up a bit, Berlanti is working with Greg Malins to bring an untitled multi-camera comedy pilot to CBS.

The new comedy will follow Nick and Wendy, a couple of people who have worked together closely for 15 years. According to Deadline, Nick will be dealing with what he thinks is a major health problem. During his time dealing with the scare, Nick has an epiphany moment where he realizes Wendy is the person he would like to spend the rest of his life with. Apparently, Malins and Berlanti are pretty serious about pulling together the pilot, with Warner Bros. TV attached to produce. The two have already found their Wendy, and they didn’t even have to travel to Never Never Land to do it.

Reba’s JoAnna Garcia Swisher is set to play Wendy in the upcoming comedy. While we know Nick will have a hell of a time trying to figure out how to tell Wendy he is in love with her, so far no one involved with the show is intimating at what Garcia Swisher’s role will be like. Will she be aware of Nick’s feelings? Oblivious? Hopefully this one gets past the pilot stage so we can find out.
