Hillary Clinton Chats With Ellen About Breast Cancer And Gay Rights

Hillary Clinton had the attention of Ellen DeGeneres’ fans today when she appeared on Ellen’s talk show to chat about some of her policies. Among the issues on the menu were Clinton’s thoughts on gay rights as well as a plan to find a cure for breast cancer.

The breast cancer plan, , which according to what Clinton told Ellen on today’s episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show includes a funding boost of $300 million annually for research and will aim to find a cure and improve access to screenings and treatment for women. Clinton also spoke a bit about her thoughts on gay rights and her desire to ensure equality for gays. Below is a video of her sharing a personal story that’s had an influence on her beliefs on the subject:

While Hillary did use her visit to talk about some of the issues that are important to her, she wasn’t all business. Last month she proved she had a sense of humor when she appeared on Saturday Night Live. Today she proved she has a playful side as she and Ellen did a bit of bowling. Unfortunately, her bowling skills could use a little work:

I’m thinking that Clinton’s appearance on Ellen’s show today could really work in her favor in terms of her race for that upcoming job opening in the White House. Much like her appearance on SNL showed us that Clinton doesn’t mind being poked fun of, spending some time chatting with Ellen shows voters the more down to earth, human side of her that doesn’t always come through at the more formal appearances she does. A little bit of that goes a long way with the voters but I suppose we'll have to wait and see if it has any affect on her popularity.
