Jenna Elfman Ready For A New Sitcom

It took just three years for Thomas Gibson to hop from Dharma And Greg to Criminal Minds, but the journey has been a little more winding for his former co-star Jenna Elfman. She's popped up in everything from Courting Alex to Accidentally On Purpose, but maybe this'll finally be the pilot that brings renewed success.

According to Deadline, Elfman is circling the ABC pilot Bad Mom. Created by comedienne Sharon Horgan, it follows a mostly absentee mother who's forced to resume her parenting duties after her mother says enough to the constant babysitting. There's two kids to look after and no husband in sight. Let's hope Elfman, a new mother, can't draw on too many personal experiences for this role.

Doesn't Bad Mom just sound like a sitcom? That's not always a bad thing. Most of the best television laughers don't really stretch too far on premise, but as a result, it makes it that much more important that the show has some sort of spark to separate it from the pack.
