Lady Gaga And Josh Hutcherson Lined Up To Host Saturday Night Live

I’m always apprehensive when anyone other than a comedian or actor signs on to host Saturday Night Live, so word that Lady Gaga will be pulling double duty as host and musical guest next month has me raising an eyebrow. On one hand, she’s a pretty fearless performer and fearless is a good thing when it comes to comedy and live television. On the other hand, well, you never know what you’re going to get with Gaga, so at the very least, it’s probably a safe bet to expect unpredictability. In other hosting news, SNL viewers also have The Hunger Games star Josh Hutcherson to look forward to later next month.

NBC announced today that Lady Gaga will make her hosting debut on the long-running sketch comedy series in November, and she’ll take her third turn as the musical guest for the episode. She served as the musical guest for an episode in 2009 and again in 2011.

Gaga also made a cameo during her second episode to appear in Justin Timberlake and Andy Samberg’s “3-Way” music video:

Lady Gaga’s episode airs November 16, just days after her highly anticipated new album ARTPOP releases (November 11).

And then on November 23, The Hunger Games’ Josh Hutcherson will make his SNL hosting debut. Hutcherson’s episode airs the day after the hugely anticipated sequel, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, arrives in theaters (November 22). The first film, in which Hutcherson starred as Peeta Mellark, has been spoofed on Saturday Night Live before, but Hutcherson’s episode seems like the perfect time to revisit the concept in some darkly humorous way. Catch the latest news and trailers for Catching Fire here.

The musical guest for Josh Hutcherson’s episode will be HAIM.

Edward Norton was the last to host Saturday Night Live this season. You can watch the highlights from his episode here. Coming up next, we have Scandal star Kerry Washington to look forward to. She’s set to host this Saturday night’s episode. You can watch the promo for that here.

Saturday Night Live airs Saturday at 11:30 p.m. ET on NBC.
