SNL Videos: Jennifer Lawrence Roasts Oscar Nominees, Spoofs The Hunger Games And More

Golden Globe winner Jennifer Lawrence followed up last weekend's big win by hosting an episode of Saturday Night Live. The series returned from its winter hiatus on Saturday night and offered a few funny sketches, including a cold open that managed to poke fun at Lance Armstrong, Manti Te'o and Jodie Foster… and also Piers Morgan, kind of.

Jennifer Lawrence's opening monologue acknowledged her "dig" at Meryl Streep during the Golden Globes by roasting her fellow Oscar nominees. Among her funnier sketches, she played a waitress with an attitude, she reprised her role as Katniss Everdeen for a post Games Hunger Games press conference, and she showed us how adorable she looks as a dog for the "Top Dog Chef" sketch.

Not all the sketches were winners - I definitely didn't get the "Danielle" sketch - but overall, Lawrence did a solid job. The musical guest The Lumineers were also pretty fantastic. You'll find their performances on the last page of the videos, but we'll start at the beginning with the cold open and the opening monologue…

Kelly West
Assistant Managing Editor

Kelly put her life-long love of movies, TV and books to greater use when she joined CinemaBlend as a freelance TV news writer in 2006, and went on to serve as the site’s TV Editor before joining the staff full-time in 2011 and moving over to other roles at the site. At present, she’s an Assistant Managing Editor who spends much of her time brainstorming and editing features, analyzing site data, working with writers and editors on content planning and the workflow, and (of course) continuing to obsess over the best movies and TV shows (those that already exist, and the many on the way). She graduated from SUNY Cortland with BA in Communication Studies and a minor in Cinema Studies. When she isn't working, she's probably thinking about work, or reading (or listening to a book), and making sure her cats are living their absolute best feline lives.
