My Boys Star Cast In Showtime's The Big C

My Boys fans will appreciate this bit of casting news. It was reported today that Reid Scott, who plays Brendan Dorff on the TBS comedy has been cast in a recurring role in Showtime’s upcoming series The Big C.

Deadline.com posted the news, stating that while Scott’s co-stars Kyle Howard and Jordana Spiro had to pull out of their roles in the upcoming NBC series Love Bites and Perfect Couples because of their contracts with TBS, Scott was able to sign on for a multi-episode arc on Showtime’s The Big C with TBS’ blessing.

The Big C will star Laura Linney and is set to follow a woman who reclaims her life after she’s diagnosed with cancer. The premise kind of reminds me of Breaking Bad, except I’m guessing Linney’s character Cathy won’t be using her remaining time to make and distribute meth. Perhaps it’s just the cancer that she shares with Walter White from the popular AMC drama series.

Deadline states that Scott will play Linney’s characters oncologist Dr. Todd, who has “lots of training and intellect but lacks life or professional experience.”
