Peacock Picks Posh For Reality Pack Across Pond

Just when you thought reality TV couldn’t get more exciting, along comes a new show about—get this—moving. NBC has decided to launch a reality bit featuring Victoria Beckham (a.k.a. Posh Spice) and her soccer hubbie David and their move to America. Well, it’s not so much a move as it is a huge publicity parade, but anyway… since when did those big yellow Ryder trucks become glamorous?

David, as you may know, recently signed a gazillion dollar deal with the Los Angeles Galaxy soccer team, thus compelling he and Posh to make the jump across continents from their current home in Europe. Variety.com reports Posh signed a deal with the Peacock for six reality-comedy episodes.

Says executive producer Simon Fuller, the man behind current reality sensation ‘American Idol,’ "For the past few years I've been inundated with requests to make a show based on Victoria's real life. After much thought, we have finally decided to do it. NBC will be our partners."

The as yet untitled reality series will follow the 32-year old singer and model as she transports her life, three children and career to good old L.A. As if to remove any thoughts the half-hour show will feature nothing more than taping big brown boxes and marking them “fragile,” Posh had this to say about her new gig, "The show is really something different. It's pushing the boundaries and I think it is going to surprise a lot of people."

Oh yes, it’ll be different alright. Posh’s publicity spectacle should have its share of celebrity cameos, crazed paparazzi, and maybe even a heart-warming family moment or two, and will air sometime this summer.
