Sarah Chalke Back On TV In CBS's Mad Love

Even though she hasn't had a regular TV job since her arc as Stella on How I Met Your Mother ended, we were writing about Sarah Chalke for a while there as she filmed roles on two separate fall pilots. Since neither pilot-- Team Spitz and Freshman-- got picked up, Chalke is back to being a free agent, and she's veering right back on to your television.

Deadline Hollywood reports that Chalke is in talks to co-star in CBS's Mad Love, a very How I Met Your Mother-sounding sitcom about four friends living in New York City and finding their way through romance. Chalke would be replacing Minka Kelly, who played the role in the pilot and isn't the first actor to be replaced. Party Down's Lizzy Caplan originated the role of Connie, but given her commitment to the other show the role is in the process of being recast. Chalke's role of Kate is described as "a pretty, clean-scrubbed Midwesterner who i a sweet but strong-willed romantic." Sounds a lot like a female equivalent of HIMYM's Marshall, but maybe I've just been a fan of the show for so long I've started seeing everything in those terms.

Mad Love will be a midseason replacement show at CBS, with Jason Biggs and Tyler Labine currently filling out the male half of the lead quartet. If you've been craving some weekly Chalke ever since Scrubs ended and were pissed when Stella left Ted at the altar, you may finally be in luck.
