While orgies are traditionally a fairly taboo subject, a variety of sitcoms and dramas on television have managed to tackle that subject over the past few years, and now they can be viewed together in this fabulous orgy supercut. Before you check it out, we will say that while the video is tame as far as orgies are concerned, it’s still probably not the best plan to check it out while at work.
Again, this is a video about orgies, so use your best judgment before proceeding.
Honestly, you would expect an orgy-filled video to be a little more obscene, but this video features hilarious segments from the likes of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and Seinfeld. There’s that famous scene in which Jerry Seinfeld talks about the effort it would take to become “an orgy guy.”
Don’t you know what it means to become an orgy guy? It changes everything. I’d have to dress different. I’d have to act different. I’d have to grow a mustache and get all kinds of robes and lotions… I’d have to get thick carpeting and weirdo lighting!
There is plenty of nudity, too, from shows like Netflix’s Sense8 and Showtime’s former series Queer as Folk, although with so many bodies involved, you’re not going to randomly catch any genitilia. There are plenty of butts involved, but if you were hoping for something raunchier, there’s plenty of actual porn on the Internet. This is more of a catalog of the times orgies have made their way on to TV.
Following True Detective’s big orgy scene this past week, the Huffington Post put together the booty-filled video. Although, they hit a lot of good moments in TV’s orgy history, I have no idea how they forgot about Spartacus, which featured plenty of nude cavorting and group sex scenes during parties. In fact, Spartacus was almost as known for these casual sex encounters as the show was known for its brutal and super-stylized action sequences. Although, since this video is rather tame compared to what those parties could sometimes entail, maybe the show was purposefully left out.
It’s a shame the Starz drama didn’t manage to make it into the video. However, a lot of other entertaining moments did.
Over the years, what is and isn’t acceptable for television audiences has certainly changed. The shows that toe a line often end up getting episodes banned or pulled at some point, but taking a leap and trying something new is also what has allowed TV to change, grow and take on new meaning—especially in the cable and subscription streaming landscapes—in recent years. So, bring on the orgies, because scenes like these also led to all the nudity we see on Game of Thrones.
