The Walking Dead has one of the strongest presences at this year's Comic Con, with an entire zombie event taking over the Petco Park baseball stadium and, happening as we speak, a packed panel in the massive Hall H. And the people who waited in the long line to get into that Hall H panel were given some excellent news for their trouble: season 3 of the show, which we knew was coming this October, has finally been given an official date.

You'll want to mark off Sunday, October 14 on your calendar, for the return of all the face-chewing zombies and the people who fend them off that you know and love. And based on what's been promised in the panel already, there's a lot to look forward to-- producers and the cat have teased the appearance of the prison, lots and lots of action from the very beginning of the season, and some iconic moments from the graphic novel in particular showing up in Episode 6. For all the details from the panel, updated live as we hear them, check out Kelly's live blog.

Let us know in the comments how you'll be preparing for the October 14 premiere of The Walking Dead!
