On January 2nd, Ubisoft will launch the third multiplayer event for Assassin's Creed 3. The "Deadly Shadows" event will challenge the player community to covertly kill their opponents.

"War engendered misery, and with misery came thieves and murderers," reads the event's description. "When the shadows become the only place to live, only one rule remains: to kill or be killed. Stride along the bleak alleys and appear suddenly from the darkness to fight for your life!"

During the event, the player community must perform 110,500 Incognito kills in multiplayer. Once they accomplish this, new night maps will be unlocked for online play. If you accomplish the (unspecified) individual goal, you'll earn a relic to wear during matches. Everyone who participates will unlock a special title as well.

To take part in Deadly Shadows, head to the "Events" section of the game's main menu. Alternately, you can create a Custom Match with the Game Category set to "Event." Any other multiplayer deeds won't count toward the goals.

During the event, Ubisoft will be selling exclusive Warrior costumes for each character. These costumes can only be purchased during the event. They can be previewed in the "Customization" menu.
