BreakQuest: Extra Evolution Busting Blocks On PSN Next Week
The brick-breaking genre continues to evolve (hyuck) next week with the launch of BreakQuest: Extra Evolution for the PlayStation 3, PSP and Vita.
The original BreakQuest gave players a slightly new take on the brick-breaking formula, offering interesting playing fields and power-ups to make ball bouncing more engaging than the average Pong or Breakout clone. With Extra Evolution loads of new levels and enhancements look to take physics-based block busting to a whole new level when the game releases as a PlayStation Mini during the regular weekly Store update in both the U.S. and Europe.
In BreakQuest: Extra Evolution players will have access to 100 brand new levels, each featuring a unique design, visual effects and behavior elements. The folks at BreakQuest have also implemented an advanced physics and collision system, as well as thrown in new weapons, power-up bonuses and more.
“BreakQuest: Extra Evolution is an unusual game. From one side, it’s a full sequel to BreakQuest, one of the best block-breaking and genre defining gams licensed to us by its creator, Nurium Games,” said publisher/developer Beatshapers CEO Alexey Menshikov. “But from another side, it’s a completely new game which incorporates our vision based on our inspiration from playing the original BreakQuest. What we did is take the best game and design elements of the original BreakQuest and rebuilt it from the ground up using today’s approach to the genre.”
For those looking for some brick-breaking fun, Extra Evolution offers those 100 levels we were just talking about, 10 unique bosses, new space shuttles with their own power-ups to keep the ball bouncing, new energy shield mechanics to halp control the ball, 21 in-game achievements to uncover, and an all new, peppy-as-hell soundtrack.
Look for it next week on PSN for $3.99.
