Interstellar Marines Now Available For Early-Access On Steam
Finally! After an entire generation of waiting, wanting, begging, craving, yearning and crying, Interstellar Marines is finally available for early-access purchase on Steam. Yes, that's right, you can finally put money into the coffers of Zero Point Software for the highly anticipated, AAA indie title, Interstellar Marines.
The game is available bright as day on Steam right now for $14.99. There's a short blurb on the page to help get gamers enticed and digitally ensconced in this sci-fi space adventure, noting...
“We're a small team pouring our blood, sweat and tears into delivering an FPS that merges the best from tactical shooters with believable science fiction and role-playing-- think Half-Life meets System Shock, giving birth to Rainbow Six in space!
If you've been following the progress of this game, it's been around for a very long time. In fact, our very first coverage of Interstellar Marines dates back to 2009 when they unveiled The Vault, but the game was in development well before the Vault was unveiled.
Nevertheless, Zero Point trudged through the trenches of development hell and fought off the incoming waves of trolls and the incessant bombardments of vaporware attacks; they hunkered down and bit the grit with iron resolve and coding skills of steel. Utilizing an iron jaw to knock away the blows of a financial knockout, they powered up their intestinal fortitude and leveled-up their heart of gold to deliver Interstellar Marines, come criticisms or forum board dismissals. They can proudly stand on the mountaintop of alpha access and say that they made it – they won the battle, but they're still fighting the war.
You can help them win that war by putting forward a few dollars or two to pick up a digital copy of Interstellar Marines from Steam's Early Access page. After garnering enough attention and votes from Steam's Greenlight, they're well on their way to becoming a historical indie story for the times. Whether or not a console port is still on the table remains to be seen, but I'm sure there are a number of gamers who would give a pence score or two dozen more to see the game on the Wii U or PlayStation 4 and maybe, just maybe, if the Early Access turns out to be a success we'll see it happen yet.
For those that don't know, Interstellar Marines is a space-based, sci-fi first-person shooter that seems to be a throwback to classic exploration thrillers where the entire experience is aimed at engrossing gamers in an entertaining experience that encompasses plenty of thrills, lots of skill-based shooting and enough cooperative frills to keep gamers coming back for more.
You can learn more about the game by paying a visit to the game's official Steam page.
