Update 1: The game should be available on PSN in North America now. PlayStation Blog mentions that it's a cross-buy title so buying it for PS3 unlocks it for PS Vita and vice versa.
Update 2:: You can read our review of Season Two's first episode here.
Original article: Today Telltale Games released the first episode of The Walking Dead's Season Two on PC and Mac. "All That Remains" can be purchased now through Steam, GamersGate, and other digital stores. It'll arrive on PS3 later today when the PlayStation Store is updated.
Season 2 continues the storyline from the first season. This time around, though, you play as Clementine.
"Many months have passed since the events seen in Season One of The Walking Dead, and Clementine is searching for safety," Telltale says of Season Two." But what can an ordinary child do to stay alive when the living can be just as bad – and sometimes worse – than the dead? As Clementine, you will be tested by situations and dilemmas that will test your morals and your instinct for survival. Your decisions and actions will change the story around you, in this sequel to 2012’s Game of the Year."
Though Telltale's The Walking Dead has plenty of violence and zombies, it's not an action game. Instead, it shares more DNA with traditional point-and-click adventures. Players will investigate the game world and find items to overcome obstacles. Another key facet of the gameplay is the branching storyline. Players' actions and dialogue choices will have short-term and long-term consequences.
Telltale recommends that you play Season One of The Walking Dead before picking up Season Two given the story connections between the two. It's not a bad idea to play the Season One DLC 400 Days either, as you'll be returning to a familiar location from that add-on. Player's choices in Season 1 and 400 Days will affect the story of Season 2.
The other four episodes of Season Two will be released in 2014. Telltale says that they'll arrive about 4-6 weeks apart. PC and Mac gamers will have to buy the full season at once for $25. PS3 gamers will get the option of buying individual episodes for $5 apiece.
Today's PS3 release only applies to North America. The European PS3 launch is still up in the air. Xbox 360 gamers across the world will get Walking Dead Season 2 tomorrow. The game will arrive on iOS devices later in the week, Telltale Director of PR Job Stauffer said via Twitter.
