Dad Builds Hospitalized Son This Epic Iron Man Costume

Prop-maker Eric Hart put his skills to good use by creating what is probably the most adorable Halloween costume of 2014 for his hospitalized son. Collier Hart was born prematurely and for the last four months he has been hooked up to wires in a hospital as he has battled to stay alive. To celebrate Collier’s bravery, his father has decided to create an Iron Man costume, which he hopes will "help him feel brave."

Eric Hart’s miniature Iron Man costume is truly sensational - which is what you’d expect really from a professional prop maker. The North Carolina native has now uploaded a rather delightful and emotional video documenting his work on the suit. In fact you’d have to possess an iron heart not to be moved by the clip, which is presciently titled Baby Iron Man.

Eric Hart’s YouTube clip has so far been watched just under 500,000 times since it was uploaded last week. As usual, some idiots have let down the human race by bombarding the comments section with harsh remarks about the tiny attire, but anyone with any sense can’t help but be warmed by his actions. Eric Hart also added some text to the piece, as well as pictures and videos of Collier Hart, which helped to give a clearer sense of the predicament that the family is currently in.

"Our son has spent his entire life in hospital. For his first Halloween, he needed a costume that would help him feel brave. Why not Iron Man?"

But how did Hart actually make his son’s outfit? After finding a paper pattern online, he carefully scaled it down to the size of his infant child. He then set about assembling his unique Iron Man suit at his home. This included transferring the pattern to colored foam that then brought out the vibrant red and yellow of Tony Stark’s effort. The caring father then glued the pieces together and, alongside his wife, he carefully placed it over Collier on Octoberst 31 in the intensive care unit. This instantly turned him into the coolest child in North Carolina.

During a discussion with Right This Minute, Eric Hart said that the outfit has aided his son’s recovery. In fact, he also noted that Collier continues to get "stronger every day." Why did he pick Iron Man though? Eric explained that he was drawn to the character because both Tony Stark and his son need to be attached to wires to live.

"Collier’s hooked up to the machines all the time and Iron Man, he built the suit because he needed a machine to keep himself alive. I just thought if he had a little Iron Man suit he could come home with us."

Collier Hart is currently still battling to get home. And now he has the whole world praying for him too.
