Last night Warner Bros. dropped some big news when they let it be known that they were planning a theatrical and Blu-ray 3D release of the classic film The Wizard of Oz, but that wasn't the only big news that the studio was announcing. Because 2013 will be their 90th anniversary, WB revealed plans to release new box sets featuring some of their best movies, some of which will be on Blu-ray for the first time. Today the nitty-gritty details have been revealed, as have announcements regarding the future of Middle Earth and Gotham City.

Home Entertainment calendar that notes in 2013 we will both be getting an extended Blu-ray cut of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey as well as Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight Rises Trilogy in one big set (which will include Batman Begins, The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises).
