At the beginning of Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight, before Batman began dealing with finding The Joker, he had another little problem that he had to take care of. You see, Dr. Jonathan Crane aka Scarecrow, played by Cillian Murphy, managed to escape at the end of Batman Begins and had begun pushing his fear toxin as an illegal street drug. It was a cool little cameo by Murphy and a fun way to tie up loose ends. But it would seem that Crane isn't done terrifying Gotham citizens just yet.

Comic Book Movie has collected two sources, one from the SHH Boards and the other from Facebook, saying that Cillian Murphy has been spotted on the set of The Dark Knight Rises, the third film in Nolan's Batman trilogy. According to the witnesses, Murphy was spotted at Union Station in Los Angeles wearing a black robe. Apparently the scene he is in involves some kind of court organized by the criminals of Gotham and Scarecrow will be serving as the judge. How he managed to escape police custody is a mystery, but I wouldn't put it past Bane to free him from Arkham.

The Dark Knight Rises, set to be released on July 20, 2012, stars Christian Bale, Tom Hardy, Gary Oldman, Anne Hathaway, Morgan Freeman, Marion Cotillard, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Michael Caine, Juno Temple, and Josh Pence.
