President Snow's Hunger Games: Catching Fire Portrait Is A Silent Menace
At last! His stamp has been felt in all of the preceding portraits, but only now is it time for the fearsome President Snow to take center stage, glowering and wearing his signature white rose in the latest "Capitol Couture" portrait for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. Take a look below:
Even though he looks nothing like the slight, withered man described in the book, Donald Sutherland has turned out to be inspired casting for Snow, with a tough demeanor that you can't see through no matter how hard you try. Casting Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss gave the franchise a more visibly tough lead character than the books presented, and Sutherland's Snow matches her perfectly. I like how intense Sutherland seems just in this portrait. All of the "Capitol Couture" portraits thus far have been beautiful (except for that bizarre Gale one that makes no sense), but in Snow's you can just tell he's probably plotting your death somewhere underneath that mane of hair.
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire won't come to theaters until November 22, and sadly we have no idea if this series of portraits is leading up to a trailer premiere (my guess is we might have to wait until the MTV Movie Awards, on April 14, since you know those are common audiences. In the meantime you can click here for everything else we know about the movie so far.
