Watch The New Trailer For The Lawrence Of Arabia 4K Restoration

In a way, we actually got a 3D conversion of David Lean's Lawrence of Arabia this summer. In Ridley Scott's Prometheus the android David (played by Michael Fassbender) watches the movie and molds his personality around it, even going as far as to part his hair the same way that Peter O'Toole does in the film. While we didn't get to see much of the 1963 Best Picture winner in the sci-fi story, it was great to see it on the big screen again, particularly because of how it had been restored. And now it looks like the UK is going to get a full dose of it.

To celebrate the movie's 50th anniversary, a 4K restoration of the original film print has been made and in advance of the upcoming Blu-ray, which will be hitting shelves November 13th, the movie will be getting a limited release on October 4th. And now a brand new trailer has been released in advance of the event, via Empire. Check it out!

If you've never seen Lawrence of Arabia before, this is probably the best opportunity you will ever get. The film is utterly brilliant from beginning to end and absolutely demands to be seen on the big screen. The re-release will be a 227-minute director's cut, so you might want to bring a bit of extra cushioning for your movie theater seat, but believe me when I say that it is absolutely worth it.

Specific details about the dates and size of the release are still unknown, but as we get closer to the date we should start hearing more and we'll be sure to bring you as much information as we can.
