When You Can Watch Beauty And The Beast Streaming

belle happy in beauty and the beast 2017

Disney's live action remake of Beauty and the Beast did quite well when it hit theaters earlier this year. The movie has been available on Blu-ray and DVD since June, but if you haven't wanted to shell out some major dollars for a hard copy, we have good news. If you've been wanting to check out the live action Beauty and the Beast, you'll be able to stream it on Netflix starting on September 19. Which means that, yes, you have less than a month before you can watch the Disney movie streaming.

Prior to the reveal of the full September streaming breakdown from Netflix, news broke that Beauty and the Beast will be available for streaming via the subscription platform in September. The news comes as a few Disney titles will also be leaving Netflix in September. Lilo & Stitch and The Emperor's New Groove will both be leaving the service on September 5. Presumably, these won't be the last of the Disney movies being removed from the streaming service in the coming months, either.

The news also comes just a couple of weeks after Disney announced it will be putting together its own streaming service after buying a 42% stake in BAMTech to launch streaming products for Disney and ESPN content. As part of the new service Disney CEO Bob Iger expressly said that Disney and Pixar movies would be heading to its streaming service. This means that a lot of titles that Netflix has gotten as part of its deal with Disney may go to the company's new service moving forward. Despite the announcement, the deal doesn't seem to be effective immediately, because Beauty and the Beast will be arriving on Netflix next month.

News has also broken that Netflix is trying to renegotiate with Disney to retain rights to some Disney films, including Star Wars properties, so we'll let you know how those talks ultimately pan out. In the meantime, if there are any Disney titles, such as Moana that you haven't gotten around to checking out yet, now may be a good time to peruse them streaming. Presumably none of this will affect the Netflix and Marvel content that the Disney-owned studio has created specifically for Netflix, including Daredevil, The Punisher, The Defenders and more.

If you are a Netflix holdout, Beauty and the Beast is already available on Disney Movies Anywhere, and of course, on DVD, Blu-ray and Digital. It's not the last live action movie being made, either, as Disney has already announced a slew of additional upcoming features, including The Lion King, Aladdin and Dumbo, among others.
