Nick And Vanessa Lachey Are Having A Baby

A few weeks ago, Wipeout host Vanessa Minnillo announced that she was officially becoming Vanessa Lachey. At the time, many speculated her decision may have sprung out of a desire to feel close to her husband Nick, but now it seems like she might have had someone else in mind too.

In an appearance on Live With Kelly this morning, Nick revealed Vanessa is pregnant. She apparently took a pregnancy test while he was away in the Bahamas, called him to celebrate and has been eating Mexican food like it’s her job ever since. According to US Weekly, that last part has required a whole lot of late night restaurant trips, but thus far, he’s been more than willing to accommodate.

As for potential names, Nick has admitted he’s a bit partial to Sophia, but we all know the soon-to-be mom is going to wield veto power of any nomenclature decisions. As for due date, nothing specific has been announced except a vague range of late summer to early fall.

It’s funny how life works out. Many fans expected Nick and Jessica Simpson to have a huge family. That relationship didn’t work out, but in its wake, he found Vanessa and she found former NFL player Eric Johnson. Now both Lachey and Simpson are pregnant at the same time, with the latter due any day.

Pop Blend sends out its congratulations to Nick and Vanessa. They’ve been open about their want for a family, and now that dream has finally come true.
