American Horror Story: Freak Show Adds Wes Bentley In A Vengeful Role

The great thing about American Horror Story casting news is that it almost always seems kind of random and yet it also weirdly makes sense, no matter who is being brought on board the drama series, whether it's Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett or in this case, Wes Bentley. The FX drama always knows how to use its talent, and that will hopefully be the case with Wes Bentley, as the Hunger Games actor is set up with a role in the anticipated fourth season.

TVLine says Wes Bentley has signed on for an arc on American Horror Story: Freak Show. He'll appear in the FX horror drama's planned two-part Halloween episode, which has tentatively been scheduled for October 21 and October 28. Bentley will play the role of Eddie, "a dark tormentor from Kathy Bates' past who is hell-bent on revenge." Sounds kind of twisted!

Wes Bentley's no stranger to dark material. The actor had his first big breakthrough role with American Beauty, which definitely had some dark undertones, especially as it related to his teen character and the relationship he had with his father. From there, Bentley's credits include Weirdsville, Ghost Rider and horror film P2. He headed back toward mainstream cinema with the role of Seneca Crane in the first Hunger Games film. And he has no shortage of roles coming up, including a part in the thriller film Final Girl, and a role in Christopher Nolan's hugely anticipated sci-fi film Insterstellar. Word that he's headed to American Horror Story for Season 4 is very interesting news, both as it relates to Bentley's career and American Horror Story, which is as always something of a mystery leading into each season.

What we know about AHS: Freak Show so far is that Season 4 will be set in Florida in the 1950's at a freak show run by Jessica Lange's character. Word is, there will be a scary clown and we've already gotten a look at Sarah Paulson's conjoined twins character. We've also heard that Michael Chiklis will play the strongman.

Wes Bentley joins Michael Chiklis among the newcomers to the series this year. Set to return are Sarah Paulson, Jessica Lange, Evan Peters, Kathy Bates and other returners from past seasons.

Hopefully we'll learning more about American Horror Story: Freak Show when the series is showcased at Comic-Con this year!
