Lost's Emilie de Ravin Joins Americana Drama Pilot

Former Lost star Emilie de Ravin has signed on to join Anthony LaPaglia in the ABC drama pilot Americana. ABC must like her work, she’s already recurring on their new series Once Upon a Time as well, although this role has the chance to be a lot more regular.

Deadline announced that she’s been tapped to play the role of Anthony LaPaglia’s daughter in the pilot. LaPaglia signed on to play the lead role, that of the patriarch of a fashionista family and founder of a famous fashion house named Robert Soulter. Emilie de Ravin’s character, Francesca, is described as “chic and outgoing”, the head of events for the fashion house who finds herself left out of the running as the heiress to her father’s empire – and it sounds like that might be a mistake on Daddy’s part. The plot has a newcomer to the family shaking things up both on the personal and business fronts, but no word on who that will be just yet.

Michael Seitzman is the writer for the pilot and is directed by Revenge’s Phillip Noyce. So far the casting of LaPaglia has raised some interest, and de Ravin seems like a good fit for the part as it has been described. She recently appeared in the feature Remember Me opposite Twilight star Robert Pattinson, and former TV credits include a role on Roswell. This role could be a great opportunity for her if it goes to series; a leading role opposite a big name actor with what seems like great opportunities for high drama.
