Mac Miller Is Getting A Reality Series On MTV2

MTV2 is betting some chips on rap star Mac Miller. The “Knock Knock” singer has signed on with MTV’s sister network to produce a reality TV series that will follow the 20-year-old and his crew of four best friends as he leaves Philadelphia and heads to Los Angeles to make a new life in the city. Currently, the reality series hasn’t put together a title for the endeavor, but we do know it will premiere in 2013.

Plus, Mac Miller seems pumped to be joining the TV World during such a big year for the young star. Not only will 2013 mark the man’s move to television and to Hollywood, he also has a 15-date European tour scheduled with Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like fans will be privy to some backstage revelations during the series, but if you are more interested in the musical components of Miller’s life, there is some good news.

THR is reporting that Miller’s short reality series will also take a look at the making of his sophomore album Watching Movies with the Sound Off, which is also set to hit the market in the new year. While six episodes sounds like a fairly short tenure on MTV2, the network is reporting the reality series will probably earn additional episodes, assumedly if the first six do well. So, if you’re a fan of the rapper, be sure to tune in.

There’s no official announcement, yet, but Miller’s series is expected to premiere at the end of February or, at the latest, early March.
