True Detective Hired 2 Porn Stars For A Wild Orgy Scene, Get The Details

Unlike shows that are combed over for spoilers, True Detective has managed to keep the plot for its upcoming second season fairly well under wraps. Until today, when we learned that the HBO drama recently hired porn stars for an over-the-top orgy sequence. To make things even more interesting, lead Rachel McAdams was also present during the filming of the scene.

Here’s what we know. A few weeks ago, the True Detective crew rented out a mansion in Pasadena. The series hired porn stars Amia Miley and Peta Jensen to take off their clothes for the small screen production as part of a massive scene involving “dozens” of naked people, according to THR. The outlet also notes that while the two porn stars are the biggest names we know of who were added to the series for the big nude scene, they weren’t hired for their specific skill sets. Instead, they just signed on as extras in the series who were willing to strip down for a huge orgy scene.

Here's a look at Miley for those of you who haven't followed her porn career...

Nude scenes are extremely common on subscription cable channels. In fact, Alexandra Daddario had a memorable nude scene during Season 1 of the crime drama. However, an actual orgy sequence on True Detective is a bit more unexpected than an orgy on Starz’s Spartacus was or HBO’s Game of Thrones has been. Although reports indicate that leads Rachel McAdams and Colin Farrell were on hand when the scene was shot, I’m guessing we won’t be seeing them strip down to their knickers anytime soon. In the upcoming series McAdams has signed on as a Venture County Sheriff’s Detective with a “no-nonsense attitude.” She doesn’t strike me as a willing participant in an orgy. Colin Farrell’s Ray Velcoro character is a bit more into the dark side, working for the police department and a mobster on the side. But something tells me they are there to bust the orgy rather than become willing participants.

While HBO has neither confirmed nor denied the presence of an orgy in Season 2 of True Detective, it fits the rumors that have been milling around that say the dead body that will kick off the series was a person who was into S&M. So, we wouldn’t be shocked if outside-the-box sexual preferences play apart in the upcoming episodes of the drama.

In the meantime, we do know that Farrell and McAdams are signed on alongside Taylor Kitsch, who will play a California Highway Patrol officer and Vince Vaughn, who will play career criminal Frank Semyon. This year, much like Season 1, True Detective will kick off with a dead body in sunny California and that dead body will open up a web of conspiracy that the three police officers and poor Frank Semyon will have to investigate. The new season is already currently in production and HBO is eyeing a summer 2015 premiere. In the meantime, we’ve been keeping tabs on everything True Detective as it develops, so be sure to check out what we know so far.
