Make Sure To Get This Free Legendary Pokemon While You Can

Nintendo is continuing to unleash free Pokemon for Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire players, with the newest Legendary Pokemon being made available throughout September for a limited time for free. If you own the 3DS copies of the game you can get your hands on the Victini right now.

Over on IGN they updated the Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire wiki page to include September's free Legendary Mythical Pokemon: Victini. The Pokemon will be available between September 1st and September 24th for the Nintendo 3DS versions of both Pokemon Omega Ruby and Pokemon Alpha Sapphire.

In order to get your hands on the Victini, you'll need to select the "Mystery Gift" option from the main menu of the game screen and then proceed to receive the Pokemon via download. Once you finish acquiring the gift, head to the Delivery Woman NPC within the game itself at a local Pokemon Center and you will need to retrieve the gift from her. You will need a free slot free in your party, so be sure to bank a Pokemon you aren't using if you want to get your hands on a Victini.

They also mention in the article that it's possible to get different values if you save your game before you talk to the Delivery Woman and proceed to unbox the Pokemon to see what values it has. If it's not something you like, you can do a soft reset and attempt to retrieve the Pokemon once more to see if it has the values you want.

Victini is described as a rabbit-like Pokemon. It originally made its debut in Pokemon Black and Pokemon White, and was also featured in Pokemon X and Y along with the other two games mentioned at the top of the article. Victini was not available in any Pokemon game prior to Generation V. The rabbit-like creature is a psychic and fire-type Pokemon with a 0.4% catch rate, according to the Bulbapedia.

The rarity of this Pokemon has also made it a bit of a fan-favorite. Victini even made a brief cameo in Super Smash Bros for both the Nintendo 3DS and the Wii U.

As part of the 20th anniversary for Pokemon, Nintendo has been letting loose free Mythical and Legendary tier Pokemon throughout the past year to celebrate the continued popularity and growth of the brand. With Pokemon Go helping put the property back into the mainstream spotlight, it's no surprise that this year has been a big one for Nintendo and The Pokemon Company as they continue to unleash new games, new Pokemon and renewed interest in the property. In fact, they have Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon due for release this November to help capitalize on Pokemon Go, which released on mobile devices recently.

If you're inclined to upgrade your stash of Pokemon and increase your prestige by having a Mythical tier Pokemon in your line-up, you might want to jump on the Victini opportunity while it's available.
