GTA Online Is Giving Away Ugly Christmas Sweaters And More
Do you enjoy free stuff? Of course you do. Do you like free Christmas stuff? Well, who doesn't? Do you like free Christmas gifts... like ugly sweaters? Ehh, I'm sure many of you would pass on that but you certainly don't want to pass on the free car that comes with that ugly sweater. Rockstar Games has been in the giving mood lately, and that includes giving away plenty of gear for GTA Online.
Over on the Rockstar Games website there's a detailed roll out of the free items and gifts that gamers will receive just for logging into Grand Theft Auto V's online mode during the festive holiday season. This includes the free Vapid Clique, a classic American-made town car themed after the old-school Oldsmobile from way back in the day. It's design favors the soft curves of the 1950s metal husks that dominated the roadways back in America, and was free for everyone who logged into GTA Online on December 25th. It features a giant Christmas bow on top and white snowflakes across a red livery with a matching bow stripe down the side of the two doors. It has the conservative appeal of a classic town car but the horsepower of a roadster, complete with matching sports tires.
It's amazing, but some of Rockstar Games' fictional cars are actually starting to look exactly like real life cars, which is a tremendous feat for the design team. The vehicles have to be designed from the ground up since Rockstar doesn't have the licenses from the major car manufacturers to include them in the game like Polyphony Digital or Turn 10 does with Gran Turismo or Forza Motorsport.
There's also a second vehicle added to the list, the Itali GTO. It's a super car with a slick design and custom bodywork that will surely appeal to those who enjoy the superfluous bodywork of tuner cars. It's a two-door that looks very similar to the newer Corvette models that GM has been pumping out.
And, of course, we can't ignore the fact that there is a string of ugly Christmas sweaters up for grabs, which started on December 25th and will continue to roll out all the way through January 1st. This includes the Slasher Festive Sweater on December 25th, the Blue Bleeder Festive Sweater on December 26th, the Green Slaying Festive Sweater on December 27th, the Hail Santa Festive Sweater on December 28th, the Blue Cluckin Festive Sweater on December 29th, the Merry Sprunkmas Festive Sweater on December 30th, the Black & Red Bones Festive Sweater on December 31st, and the Red Bones Festive Sweater on January 1st.
The sweaters may be Christmas themed, but they also have a hint of GTA's satirical touch tucked within their design as well.
I imagine plenty of gamers will want to don the sweaters while they create mayhem and havoc in GTA Online while they steal, shoot, crash, and blow things up within San Andreas.

And, speaking of blowing things up... there's also the all new Bomb Ball Mode that's currently available right now. It's like a mixture of Mad Max and Rocket League. The objective is to get an explosive bomb into the other team's goal without blowing up. This joins the Arena War Series, and for anyone playing the mode between now and January 14th, they'll receive double the dollars and double the RP.
