It seems the rumors of an remake of Halo: Combat Evolved were true. Microsoft announced Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary at their E3 press conference this afternoon.

Combat Evolved Anniversary updates the 2001 shooter with high-def graphics. It will ship with seven competitive multiplayer maps. Xbox Live co-op will also be supported.

Microsoft showed off the new visuals in the game's debut trailer, visible below. The end of the trailer states that Anniversary will be released on November 15th, 2011.
