In the coming weeks, 343 Industries plans to release a series of videos about Halo 4's selection of weapons. The first trailer focuses on the weapons favored by the UNSC military.
Most of the UNSC equipment here was seen in previous games. The assault rifle, magnum, battle rifle, DRM, rocket launcher and sniper rifle all make appearances. The fan favorite Spartan Laser is back, too. Each has undoubtedly gotten a bit of a facelift since the last game but should be functionally the same.
There are a few new additions toward the end of the video. First up is the sticky detonator, a short-range gun that lets you place a remotely detonated explosive on vehicles and soldiers alike. The SAW is a heavy machinegun that will let you mow down groups of enemies with ease. The video closes with a look at the Railgun, which is just as powerful as we suspected.
It's a fun video but it should pale in comparison to later installments in the series. I'm looking forward to the preview of the new Forerunner weapons that Master Chief will find on his journey.
