Heroes of the Storm now has a new character and it's a real doozy. Cho'gall is a two-headed ogre from Warcraft that will be controlled by two players at once in the PC strategy game.
One player is Cho while the other is 'Gall. The Cho controls the movement of the character and also has access to a few Warrior abilities:
- Surging Fist (Q) - Wind up for at least 1 second, temporarily slowing yourself, then reactivate to charge in a direction. Enemies in your path are knocked aside and take damage.
- Consuming Blaze (W) - Ignite nearby enemies, dealing damage over 4 seconds. If this hits an enemy, gain Health over 4 seconds.
- Rune Bomb (E) - Roll a bomb that damages enemies in its path. Gall can use Runic Blast (E) to detonate it, dealing damage in an area.
- Hammer of Twilight (R1) - Passively increases Basic Attack damage by 25%. Activate to swing the Hammer, which deals damage, pushes enemies away, and stuns them for 0.75 seconds.
- Upheaval (R2) - After 1 second, pull enemies toward your location, slowing them by 25% for 3 seconds and dealing a small amount of damage.
Although 'Gall is going to get dragged around the map by the other player, he has a unique set of heavy-hitting Assassin powers at this disposal:
- Hurry Up, Oaf! (Z) - Increase Cho’s Movement Speed by 60%. This effect decays over 3 seconds.
- Shadowflame (Q) - Deal damage to enemies in a line.
- Dread Orb (W) - Throw a bomb that will bounce three times, dealing damage to enemies on each bounce.
- Runic Blast (E) - Detonate Cho’s Rune Bomb, dealing damage around it.
- Twisting Nether (R1) - After 1 second, enemies are slowed by 40% while you channel, up to 5 seconds. Activate to deal damage.
- Shadow Bolt Volley (R2) - Unleash 20 Shadow Bolts over 4 seconds, each dealing damage to the first target hit. The bolts fire in the direction of your cursor.
What's even more unusual about Cho'gall is how Heroes of the Storm players will get him. While he's live in the game now, you can't purchase him with gold or cash. Only the players who bought an in-person or virtual ticket to BlizzCon 2015 have access to him right now.
Everyone else can unlock Cho'gall for their collection by playing with someone who does own them. If you win two games as Cho or Gall while in a party with an owner of the character, you'll get permanent access to him. Cho'gall owners, meanwhile, have incentive to spread the character around. If they win 4 games as Cho or Gall with non-owners, they'll get 2,200 Gold.
The challenge, then, is finding someone who owns Cho'gall. A good place to start is the Heroes of the Storm community over on Reddit. Players are sharing their BattleTags there to make it easier to find partners. That same Reddit thread also points toward Discord servers and chat rooms players are using to link up.
The official Heroes of the Storm website says that the "Cho'gall Buddy Brawl" will run until January 1st. My guess is that they'll begin selling the two-headed ogre after that date.
