With the summer movie blockbuster season winding down, adrenaline junkies are in need of a new action hero to take the wheel and steer everyone over a fiery chasm of awesomeness. Joe Danger is one such hero and, in his upcoming Xbox Live Arcade game Joe Danger 2: The Movie, he aims to do exactly that. And now that Hello Games has announced a Sept. 14 release date, we know exactly when he aims to do exactly that, too.

Joe Danger: The Movie is the sequel to the PlayStation Network and XBLA game Joe Danger, which saw everyone’s favorite stuntman putting his dirtbike to the ultimate test in a side-scrolling game of speed, tricks and massive points. According to Hellos Games’ managing director Sean Murray, The Movie aims to expand on that formula in every regard.

“The launch of Joe Danger 2: The Movie on Sept. 14 will provide fans a new chapter with our iconic hero,” Murray said. “We’re incredibly proud of this game, as it represents the vision and goals we set out to achieve two years ago. We’re a small team, and this is a huge game supporting features like global level sharing and online ghosts of everybody who has ever played the Joe Danger games.”

Joe Danger 2: The Movie will launch for 1200 Microsoft Magic Points, or $15 in normal human money. That will net you 100 scenes, 20 vehicles and 40 hours of gameplay in which to create the greatest action movie ever made…Ever!

And if that’s not enough high octane news to get your motor running, Hello Games has also announced a price drop in the original Joe Danger Special Edition for XBLA, moving the price down to just 600 MP ($8).
