With Iron Man 3 hitting theaters this weekend, it’s only appropriate that upcoming free-to-play action MMO, Marvel Heroes would be in the celebrating mood. Starting this Saturday, May 4, and running through next Monday, May 6, eager gamers will be able to try out the game as part of the Iron Man 3 Open Beta Weekend.”

In Marvel Heroes, players take on the role of their favorite comic book characters in order to beat the stuffing out of the Marvel universes most diabolical baddies. A free-to-play action MMO, players can team up with friends, customize their heroes, explore a massive world and, yeah, punch baddies in the face. If you’re thinking the game looks a lot like a Marvel version of Diable, well, there’s a good reason for that.

Set to release sometime this June, developer Gazillion Entertainment announced that the beta will be open to all takers this weekend in celebration of the launch of Iron Man 3 in theaters. Those who participate will be able to play as an Avenger—Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Captain America, Black Widow—but, come on, it’s called the Iron Man 3 Open Beta Weekend for a reason. You know you want to don one of the metal maniac’s 14 suits and tear up the town in style.

To get in on the action, simply head to the Marvel Heroes official website and pre-register. Once the open beta launch draws closer, you’ll receive an email with instructions for joining in on the fun. Excelsior!
