Orcs Must Die Developer Is Launching Major Sale With Inaugural Orcs Week

While development on Orcs Must Die: Unchained continues, the developers at Robot Entertainment decided to pay a little tribute to the Orcs Must Die series by having a sale on the previously released games.

According to Robot Entertainment, they notified gaming press that there's a Steam sale currently going on for their Orcs Must Die brand, with the series of games currently released being made available for up to 90% off the normal price. Even more than that is the fact that the DLC for the game is also discounted by up to 90% off.

The two main games, Orcs Must Die and Orcs Must Die 2, are $0.99 and $1.49 respectively, down from the standard $9.99 and $14.99 price points. Each of the DLC packs for the first game are also 90% off and you can grab them for as low as $0.19, down from the standard $1.99 price. What's insane is that the main games are both discounted to be cheaper than what the DLC regularly costs. That's a crazy good bargain.

The DLC for the second game is slightly more expensive than the DLC for the first game. You'll need to churn out $0.49 each. The original soundtrack for the second game is discounted down to $0.59, a nice drop from the $5.99 price point it usually carries.

The list of the Orcs Must Die discounts are available over on Steam. You'll have from now up until February 28 to get your hands on the deals before it's all over with.

The developers are also complimenting the sales with some special events that they'll be hosting over on the OrcsMustDie.tv website. They'll have some insider access and talk up the design ideas behind the upcoming Orcs Must Die: Unchained, as well as cover how the five-player co-op maps will work in the new title due for release on PC and PS4 later this year.

If you miss out on the insider access you can gain some more insight into the design and development philosophies at Robot Entertainment on February 25. And finally, just before the sale ends, there's a special “Facing Your Worst Nightmares” event that they will roll out for both Orcs Must Die and Orcs Must Die 2 over on the weekend on February 27.

The events and sales are designed to bolster interest in the series as the team moves throughout 2016 and begins to wind down development on the latest game in the franchise. At the moment they're still going through the testing and tweaking phases but that may be coming to an end soon.

There's no actual release date set at the moment for Orcs Must Die: Unchained, but as they've been beta testing and refining the character classes and content, I wouldn't be surprised if they announced the release date following the end of the inaugural Orc Week sale.

It's nice to see that this franchise came barreling onto the scene back in 2011 and has managed to stay relevant and continue to grow so many years later. You can learn more about the series, the sales and the upcoming title by paying a visit to the Orcs Must Die website.
