Real Boxing Steps Into The Ring On Vita This August

Time to lace up your gloves and step into the ring on the go as Vivid Games announces its mobile game of pugilistic action, Real Boxing, will be heading to the PlayStation Vita sometime this August.

Already available on both iOS and Android, Real Boxing is a boxing simulator that let’s players experience the sweet science of throwing down in the ring with the ease of touch commands. According to Vivid, the game will be making the jump to Sony’s new handheld console later this year, throwing in button controls for good measure, too.

Powered by the Unreal Engine 3, Real Boxing will allow players to create their own players, choosing features like their outfit, hair and tattoos, before working their way up in the ranks from amateur to pro. Fighters have been motion captured for added realism, with “real-time deformation technology” keeping the injuries, black eyes and cuts as accurate as possible.

Real Boxing will come packed with single player, career and training modes, though no word yet on if multiplayer boxing will be an option. Each of the game’s boxers will offer a different style to compete against, complete with real-time commentary in the ring and a dynamic crowd reacting to the action. There’s even slo-mo replays for those who like to watch a dude’s face crumble under the crushing force of a left cross over and over again.

Real Boxing will be available on the E3 floor, so expect to hear more about the game in the coming weeks. Otherwise, look for it to hit the Vita PlayStation Network sometime this August.
