Starting tomorrow, the multiplayer beta for Assassin's Creed Revelations will get a little less exclusive. Ubisoft will be opening testing up to everyone with a PSN account.
"Since the Assassin’s Creed Revelations Beta is going so well, at 10:00 am tomorrow (PST) we have decided to open it up to ALL PSN USERS!!" said Ubisoft community manager Gabriel Graziani on the PlayStation.Blog. "The Beta is scheduled to end on the 11th of September, so get started on that download ASAP so you don’t miss even a moment of the action!"
The beta lets you play four game modes (Wanted, Manhunt, Deathmatch, and Artifact Assault) on three maps (Knight’s Hospital, Antioch, Constantinople). Details on these maps and modes can be found at Ubisoft's beta guide.
There are nine playable characters to choose from: The Sentinel, The Vanguard, The Guardian, The Vizier, The Thespian, The Deacon, The Bombardier, The Trickster and The Champion. You can enhance your characters with eight Abilities, including new additions like the Tripwire Bomb. Four Perks, four Streaks and four Loss Bonuses will allow you to further customize your character. While you'll have access to some of these bonuses right away, others will be unlocked over time.
Beta testing was previously limited to PlayStation Plus subscribers and Uplay members. They've had access since September 3rd. Ubisoft has imposed a level cap of 30 for the beta so hopefully these earlier testers won't completely dominate the new arrivals.
Revelations' beta is exclusive to the PS3. PC and Xbox 360 owners will need to wait until the game's November 15th launch to experience the new multiplayer.
