Writer/director Scott Charles Stewart has made a movie about the biblical apocalypse, a movie where priests battle against vampires, and now he's heading into the sci-fi genre with the alien thriller Dark Skies.
The first trailer for the movie, which stars Kerri Russell, Josh Hamilton, J.K. Simmons, and Dakota Goyo, premiered at the end of last month, but today Dimension Films unveiled the film's first poster. You can see it below, but you can also click on the image to see it in high-res over in our database.
If I didn't know that this was an alien movie I'm not sure what I would get out of this poster. Is the kid screaming to the heavens? Possibly singing? Is he preparing to hock the world's biggest loogie? Is something about to erupt from his chest? This problem would be easily solved if they just showed his feet floating off the ground - I assume that he's being abducted, is that ridiculous? - but they cut this poster off at the knees...literally.
Stewart's third feature and first not to star Paul Bettany, Dark Skies tells the story of the Barrets, an average family living in the suburbs who have their lives turned upside down when a series of disturbing events start to occur and they discover that they may be getting hunted by aliens. The movie will be out on February 22, 2013, and if you'd like to know more about the feature and see the aforementioned trailer you should see our Blend Film Database.
