The Avengers Assembles A Blu-Ray Trailer And Release Date

Excitement has been building for The Avengers' Blu-ray release more or less from the moment the movie hit theaters and proved to be just as good as, if not better than, we might have hoped. With the movie having gone on to make $1.44 billion worldwide, there's no question that The Avengers will be on quite a few Christmas and birthday wish lists this year. Now the folks over at Disney have decided to stoke the fire even higher with this kickass Blu-ray trailer that has damn near convinced me to blow off work and go watch the movie in the theater again right now.

Set to release on Blu-ray and DVD on September 25th, the Avengers will include a full 30 minutes of deleted scenes from the movie. They haven't released details about the rest of the bonus features, but the deleted scenes alone should be enough to make it a must-buy for many fans (assuming the movie itself didn't already sell them on it). We'll post more details as they become available, but in the mean time you can pre-order The Avengers on Blu-ray or DVD from Amazon right here.

Of course, you might want to hold off on that if you're not too impatient. While we don't have a release date for it, we know there's a box-set collection of all the Marvel films in the works. The Marvel Cinematic Universe: Phase One will include The Avengers, Captain America: The First Avenger, Thor, Iron Man 1 & 2, The Incredible Hulk, and a bonus disc. It lists for $219 but is currently available for $152.99, so if you don't already have the previous films, it might be worth waiting for.
