Batman Vs. Superman Considering Adam Driver As Nightwing

Rumors about Zack Snyder's Man of Steel sequel have been flying around like crazy and heating up over the last few months, but now it looks as though one of them is about to be confirmed. Just yesterday there was a report that said that there was a chance that the movie would include the Batman sidekick-turned-standalone-hero known as Nightwing a.k.a. Dick Grayson, and now The Wrap is reporting that the studio already has an actor in mind for the part. According to two unnamed individuals close to the production, Girls star Adam Driver has "emerged as the frontrunner" for the part in the superhero film.

Yesterday's Nightwing rumor described the portrayal of the character in the upcoming movie as a "a young John Hawkes type" who used to be Batman's sidekick but has moved on and become estranged from the Caped Crusader. While Driver is currently the favorite for the part, The Wrap says that there are two other unnamed actors who are up for the role as well.

As of now the cast list for the Batman vs. Superman is pretty small, only including Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White and Diane Lane as Martha Kent. But that could change very soon. In addition to this new rumor about Driver, last night we heard a rumor that Olga Kurylenko, Elodie Yung and Gal Gado are in the mix to possibly play Wonder Woman in the comic book movie. With the film's release date set for July 17, 2015 production will need to start up in the first half of next year - which means that now is the time to start getting these key pieces of the cast together.

In addition to his role on the aforementioned HBO series, Driver has been doing quite a lot of film work as well, last year starring in Steven Spielberg's Lincoln and Noam Baumbach's Frances Ha. He will next be seen playing a folk singer named Al Cody in the Coen brothers' Inside Llewyn Davis. Next year he will be part of the amazing comedy ensemble that makes up the Shawn Levy-directed Jonathan Tropper adaptation This Is Where I Leave You, and he is currently in production on a new Baumbach film, titled While We're Young.

Do you think Adam Driver would be a good fit for the Nightwing character, or do you think that they should go with somebody else? Answer our poll below and tell us what you're thinking in the comments section.
