It's hard to even decide what the most intriguing thing is about A Glimpse Inside The Mind Of Charles Swan III. We first learned of it as a directorial effort from Roman Coppola, brother of Sofia and son of Francis Ford, who made his first feature CQ over a decade ago. It got even more fascinating when Coppola cast the self-destructive Charlie Sheen as the titular Charles, a graphic designer whose life falls apart when his girlfriend dumped him. When Bill Murray, Coppola cousin Jason Schwartzman, Parks & Recreation's Aubrey Plaza, Patricia Arquette and more joined the cast, it was pretty much icing on the cake-- this movie sounded way too strange to possibly pass up.
Now we're surprisingly close to the February release of Charles Swan III, and three new images from the film have gone online at Yahoo! to make it all seem even stranger. Below you can see BIll Murray dressed as John Wayne, Aubrey Plaza dressed as a secretary in the 70s, and Jason Schwartzman…. well, I can't even explain Schwartzman's look, so you're going to have to click through and see that for yourself.
What on earth is happening here? There's no article accompanying the images, so you're going to have to guess that for yourself. Coppola has said that some sequences of the film take place in the head of the main character, so it seems safe to assume that Murray's costume, at least, is from some kind of dream sequence about The Searchers, and not a John Wayne costume party. Given that we've already seen set photos of Schwartzman dressed for the rodeo, it's your best guess as to which outfit is actually "real."
Our minds may be truly bent when A Glimpse Inside The Mind Of Charles Swan III comes to theaters early next year. Are you prepared for it?
