Braugher Joins Fantastic Four 2

Tim Story's Fantastic Four sequel is gearing up to start production on August 29th, but they're still adding new cast members. Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer has brought in former "Homicide: Life on the Streets" star and current "E.R." resident Andre Braugher to play a part.

The announcement hit all the trades this afternoon packaged with the news that he'd be replaced by Forest Whitaker on "E.R.". Braugher's a fine actor, but given a choice I'd rather have him in FF and Braugher left right there on a show people stopped watching five years ago.

Of course that depends on who Braugher is playing. He's a little old to play Silver Surfer, and besides, we know the Surfer will be all CGI anyway. No one seems to know exactly who Andre will portray, but it must be something he feels is significant enough to warrant dropping a plum prime time series gig.
