In We're The Millers, the upcoming comedy from Dodgeball director Rawson Marshall Thurber, the lead character, played by Jason Sudeikis, plays an aging pot dealer who decides to try for one last score before he retires. His plan is to try and smuggle 1,400 pounds of marijuana from Mexico to the United States without being caught by law officials. To pull this off, the protagonist has the genius idea to create a fake family so that he will rise above suspicion as he crosses the border. It was previously announced that Jennifer Aniston has signed on to play Sudeikis' fake wife, and just last week Ed Helms signed on to play the dealer's shady boss. Today we learn yet another actor has signed on for the movie.
According to Deadline, Will Poulter has taken a role in We're The Millers. Poulter, who made his acting debut in the 2007 comedy Son of Rambow, is best known for playing Eustace Clarence Scrubb in The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. He most recently starred in the Dexter Fletcher-directed drama Wild Bill, which came out in 2011. The report doesn't say what role the young actor will be playing in the new movie, but given his young age (he turned 19 in January) one can make the guess that he will be playing Sudeikis' fake son.
Tucker Tooley, Vincent Newman, Happy Walters, and David Heyman are producing the project, which has been in development for many years now. The film will be the first feature directed by Thurber since 2008's The Mysteries of Pittsburgh. No production start or release date has been announced yet.
