This Is The End Will Laugh Onto Blu-ray In October

Apocalyptic-themed movies, including comedies, have been trendy for a few years now, but that didn’t stop Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg from producing the apocalyptic comedy This is the End. As it turns out, this is a good thing, since the film is both audacious and a riot for any celebrity enthusiasts. Fans of the film will be pleased to learn This is the End will be hitting Blu-ray, DVD and Digital this fall. Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has the film planned for an October 1 release, which does mean fans will have to wait a little while to get their hands on the release.

If you are a fan of bonus features, both the This is the End Blu-ray and DVD sets will come chock full of them. The release will offer over 90 minutes of extra footage and other bonus features. This sounds like a lot until you realize that a good chunk of these 90 minutes is probably devoted to the audio commentary. As amusing as Rogen and Goldberg are, I’m not sure they will provide the most insightful of commentaries. The rest of the extras are likely to be short, funny segments. If you are more into deleted scenes and gag reels with comedy sets, you’ll want to stick with the Blu-ray.

In the film, Rogen, James Franco, Jonah Hill, Danny McBride, Craig Robinson, Emma Watson, Jay Barachel and more all play themselves on the night of a part in present-day Los Angeles. Things are going pretty well, until the big earthquake comes and fire and brimstone cover the city of Los Angeles. The remaining celebs bunker down to try to make it through what seems to be the apocalypse. This may seem like a pretty big spoiler alert if you were just clicking to check the set out, but it’s all in the trailer for the film, so I’m not really giving anything away that the studio didn’t.
