First Look: Mickey Rourke In 13

Even though he's riding high with the success of The Wrestler, Mickey Rourke doesn't seem likely to take it easy for his next onscreen outing. He already talked to us a little about his role in the French remake 13, and now the first image of him in character has been posted at USA Today, alongside an extensive interview with the star.

And while he looks a little cleaned up compared to Randy "The Ram" Robinson, the character he plays in The Wrestler, apparently that won't last long. When the USA Today writer visited him in his trailer, 'Both cheeks are marred by fresh bruises and cuts, painful souvenirs of a recent pummeling at the hands of others." It's all part of the character Rourke invented for himself in the movie, a character who wasn't in the original French film.

"I told them my character has been in jail in Mexico, and he won't give up the information of where the money he stole is buried. They beat the crap out of him every day." Whatever you say, Mickey-- I can't make heads or tails of the plot of this movie, but I like the attention to detail he puts into these things. Apparently he re-wrote much of his character in The Wrestler, and given how well that turned out, I'm happy to see him take as much artistic license as he likes. Especially if it involves the bitchin' mustache he's sporting in this photo. USA Today has the full-size version of the photo you see above.
