Former TV Stars Playing For Their Fortune

Man, the future is looking bleak. Not only is the economy falling apart around us, but every time you turn around it seems Hollywood is making another movie about how, in the year whatever, society is going to be even worse than it is now. The next people to join the miserable ranks of the future are former Lost star Dominic Monaghan (we still miss you, Charlie) and former Six Feet Under Star Freddy Rodriguez, both of whom still star in Fortuna.

Described by its producer as similar to Soylent Green, that 1970's future movie where people eat other people, Fortuna features three men (the third is writer-director Barthelemy Grossmann) who play a game that purports to allow the poor to join the upper class. Alas, as tends to be the case in futuristic movies where people play games to save their lives (hello, Running Man!), all is not as it seems.

The Hollywood Reporter jokes that the movie is just in time for our next depression, which would be funny if it weren't true. Collect your 20-sided dice and whatever else you might need to play this game; even if it involves your death, Fortuna is probably our best hope.
