Greengrass Directing Bourne

Jason Bourne is bringing a friend along for his upcoming third film, The Bourne Ultimatum: Paul Greengrass, director of The Bourne Supremacy. While formerly rumored to be returning for the third film of the franchise, Greengrass confirmed with Empire that he would be directing Ultimatum.

Greengrass tells Empire the third film is stepping away from the books, but will still be as exciting as you’d expect from a Bourne film. ” It’s going to rock. That’s honestly what it’s going to do. What direction? We’ll have a better car chase, have more exciting action, more intensity and just generally be a fuckin’ classy film.” You have to love a director who uses the words “fuckin’ classy” to describe his film.

Empire also inquired about Greengrass’s concerns over the younger Bond form that could be a likely competitor for Bourne. Greengrass wrote off the concerns as imitation, stating the two spies are very different and that if the Bond franchise remains true to its roots, there shouldn’t really be any competition between Bond and Bourne because they are two different types of movies.
