How To Get An Awesome The Boxtrolls Poster (And Some Food) at Comic-Con

Oil Can Poster

With the help of our good friends at Focus Features, we are cooking up something delicious for Cinema Blend readers who are lucky enough to be attending San Diego Comic-Con next week, and it’s tied into one of our most anticipated movies of the fall season.

Focus, on behalf of the animated feature The Boxtrolls, will be hosting an "EAT LIKE THE BOXTROLLS" event at Petco Park. Comic-Con attendees are being challenged to stop by a Boxtrolls food truck and taste celebrity Bug Chef David George Gordon’s yummy edible insect creations. We kid you not. Edible bug-related treats meant to get you excited for The Boxtrolls (and to feed you during the usual insanity of San Diego Comic-Con).

CinemaBlend is proud to sponsor a specific window for the Boxtrolls food truck. Stop by the location on Saturday, July 26th from 2 to 3 p.m. at Petco Park (exact location shown below). Take a photo of you and your yummy treat, and share it via Twitter using the hashtag #EatLikeTheBoxtrolls for a chance to win tickets to the Los Angeles Premiere.

As an added bonus, when you go to the truck and mention that Cinema Blend sent you, you will receive the exclusive character poster of Oil Can at the top of this page. The first 25 to mention "Cinema Blend sent me" at the food truck will receive the poster signed by Isaac Hempstead Wright (Game of Thrones), who voices Eggs in the film.

The Boxtrolls is an animated adventure from the geniuses at Laika. The comedic fable that unfolds in Cheesebridge, a posh Victorian-era town obsessed with wealth, class, and the stinkiest of fine cheeses. But beneath its charming cobblestone streets dwell the Boxtrolls, quirky and lovable oddballs who wear recycled cardboard boxes the way turtles wear their shells. When the Boxtrolls are targeted by villainous pest exterminator Archibald Snatcher (Ben Kingsley), who is bent on eradicating them as his ticket to Cheesebridge society, the kindhearted band of tinkerers must turn to their adopted charge and adventurous rich girl Winnie (Elle Fanning) to bridge two worlds amidst the winds of change – and cheese.

We recently visited Laika, and brought back these observations… and this trailer!

So stop by the Boxtrolls food truck if you happen to be in San Diego. Mention Cinema Blend when you do, and you’ll walk away with a very cool prize! The Boxtrolls opens everywhere on Friday, September 26th!
