Iron Man 3 Will Lead Into A New Marvel Movie, And It Might Surprise You Which

By now it would be surprising if a Marvel movie didn't contain a cameo from another character inside the universe, or a hint at the end about where the plot of the next movie might go. The studio has spent years carefully mapping out its universe and establishing all these stand-alone franchises that link together for The Avengers, and as the studio enters what they're calling "Phase Two," those links are only going to get more elaborate. So while it can't possibly be a spoiler to reveal that Iron Man 3 will help set up another upcoming Marvel film, it might surprise you to learn what's actually going to happen.

Over at Latino Review, they're using a newly revealed toy and some insider sources to tell us that at the end of Iron Man 3, Tony Stark will… well, do you really want to know? Keep reading if you do…

SPOILERS AHEAD

Where were we? Ah, Tony Stark. So when all of his stand-alone adventures are done, Iron Man will apparently be making a journey to space, where he'll rendezvous with the Guardians of the Galaxy. They'll be the subject of their own Marvel movie in 2014, and apparently Tony Stark will be making an appearance there too. Again, not a huge surprise given Marvel's love for tying things up, but with the Guardians movie still a year and a half a way, it's an early debut for them onscreen.

But though Thor: The Dark World and Captain America: The Winter Soldier are both coming to theaters before Guardians, each of those films are sequels, with less concern that audiences have no idea what the hell they are. Guardians of the Galaxy, an outer-space story about a group of alien heroes, will need a lot more introduction to the public-- and who better to do it than the beloved Tony Stark? We'll see just how big a role the Guardians play at the end of Iron Man 3 when it comes out on May 3. For everything else we know about it in the meantime, click here.
